Richmond AID’s Counselling Service
Richmond AID’s Counselling Service offers a calm, confidential space for you to talk though your
emotional needs and difficulties. We welcome anyone in the community over the age of 18 years,
including those with long term health conditions, disabilities, complex mental health needs and
caring responsibilities.
Our therapists offer individual, in-person sessions, drawing from a broad range of therapeutic
backgrounds.
All our therapists work within the ethical framework of their professional organisational body such
as the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), or the British Association for Counselling and
Psychotherapy (BACP).
Therapy options and costs
We offer therapy for up to a year for £40 per session.
We also have limited low-cost sessions available to residents of Richmond borough, for up to 20
weeks, depending on your income:
• Income less than £20,000 (based on single person household) = sliding scale £15 -25.
• Receiving means tested government benefits = £10
All applicants pay an initial assessment fee of £35
What is the process?
After you get in touch, we will contact you to discuss which option sounds best for you. We will then
arrange your initial assessment, before carefully allocating you to a suitable therapist.
Initial Assessment
Your assessment session is an opportunity for us to better understand your needs, your hopes for
therapy and whether we are the right service for you. If we discover one to one talking therapy with
us is not the best option for you at this time, we will work with you to try and find other services that
may be of more immediate help to you.
Session times
• Wednesdays 12-8pm
• Thursdays 2-5pm
• Fridays 9-3pm
All sessions are in person at our fully accessible Teddington offices. On occasion we may also be able
to offer online sessions.
