The DWP Winter Fuel Payments will be paid automatically into bank accounts and the government will never ask for bank account details by text.
People who are eligible will be notified via letter in October/November and the funds will be paid into bank accounts during November/December.
- These payments, between £100 – £300, are to help pay heating bills for winter 2025 – 2026
- You can get a Winter Fuel Payment if you were born before 22 September 1959 and live in England or Wales.
