Damp and mould remain serious issues for many social housing tenants, but positive changes are on the way. New regulations under Awaab’s Law will soon require social housing landlords to act within strict time frames to investigate and repair serious damp and mould problems, helping to ensure homes are safe and healthy to live in.
The DWP Winter Fuel Payments will be paid automatically into bank accounts and the government will never ask for bank account details by text.
People who are eligible will be notified via letter in October/November and the funds will be paid into bank accounts during November/December.
Water bills have gone up by around 31% this year, but extra support is available — especially if you’re Disabled or on a low income.

✅ Get letters in large print, Braille or accessible formats
✅ Join the Priority Services Register for extra help in emergencies
