Richmond AID’s Counselling Service
Richmond AID’s Counselling Service offers a calm, confidential space for you to talk though your
emotional needs and difficulties. We welcome anyone in the community over the age of 18 years,
including those with long term health conditions, disabilities, complex mental health needs and
caring responsibilities.
Our therapists offer individual, in-person sessions, drawing from a broad range of therapeutic
backgrounds.
Some of our therapists are experienced trainees, all are bound by the ethical framework of their professional body such
as the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), or the British Association for Counselling and
Psychotherapy (BACP). Our therapists are also required to attend regular supervision with one of our clinical supervisors, to ensure they are working as well as they can with you.
Therapy options and costs
We offer therapy for up to a year for £40 per session.
We also have limited low-cost sessions available to residents of Richmond borough, for up to 20
weeks, depending on your income:
• Income less than £20,000 (based on single person household) = £20
• Receiving means tested government benefits = £15
All applicants pay an initial assessment fee of £35.
What is the process?
Richmond AID’s Counselling Service is a self-referral only service, this is to ensure your utmost confidentiality. You can access our ‘Client Referral Form’ below, please email your completed form to: [email protected]
If you would like us to fill in the form with you, or you would just like to find out more, please email [email protected] or you can call/text us on: 07821 503 943. Alternatively, we can arrange a time for you to come in and complete the form in person.
After you have completed your referral, our team will review this to check whether we might be a suitable service for you. If so, we will arrange an initial assessment, which carries a fee of £35, for all applicants.
Initial Assessment
Your assessment session does not guarantee further therapy sessions with us, it is an opportunity for us to better understand your needs in more depth, your hopes for therapy and further assess whether we have the right therapist on board for you. If we discover one to one talking therapy with us is not the best option for you at this time, we will work with you to try and find other services that may be of more immediate help to you.
Session times
• Wednesdays 1 – 8pm
• Thursdays 2 – 5pm
• Fridays 10am – 1pm
All sessions are in person at our fully accessible Teddington offices. On occasion we may also be able to offer online sessions.
