You will be working for an organisation of and for disabled people, working to improve access, choice, quality of life and independence for disabled people in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and surrounding areas.
Position: Digital Inclusion Trainer
Location: Teddington, TW11 8HT
Salary: £26,000 – £29,000 (pro rata) depending on experience, incl OLW
Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week, there is some flexibility with hours and potential to job share.
Contract: 12-months with potential for extension
Annual Leave: 25 days leave plus bank holidays (Pro rata)

About the Role
As Digital Inclusion Trainer you will help design and facilitate a series of courses for disabled people to learn basic and everyday IT skills and support them to learn skills which will help their independence and combat social isolation. The course will cover areas such as internet shopping, internet banking, using email, using communication applications such as Zoom or WhatsApp, while making people aware of cyber security and other potential risks.
You will need to motivate and inspire people to participate in IT courses, many of whom will have to overcome fears and barriers to engaging with everyday technology such as smart phones, IPad’s, laptops and virtual assistants (Alexa), as well as experiencing financial barriers, access needs and literacy issues.
You will create a supportive learning environment, taking into account individual learning needs and individual access needs.
You will work closely with our Digital Peer Group Officer who will run a weekly peer support club where people can continue their learning and support each other with learning new areas.
You will have excellent communication skills with a background in facilitating groups or training.
You may have a qualification as a tutor/educator, e.g. an Award in Education and Training (AET) formerly known (PTLLS) Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector course and a background in IT training.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the project including advertising the project and recruiting participants, producing accessible learning materials, monitoring and evaluation of the.
Most importantly we want someone that can create a fun and friendly learning environment.
You will have excellent communication and IT skills, administrative skills and be fully competent on Microsoft applications. You will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
