We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated Activities Coordinator to join a fantastic team!
You will be working for an organisation of and for disabled people, working to improve access, choice, quality of life and independence for disabled people in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and surrounding areas.
Position: Activities Coordinator
Location: Richmond Upon Thames, London
Salary: £25,000 to £29,500 (pro rata) depending on experience, including OLW
Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week
Contract: 12-month contract, with potential for extension
Annual Leave: 25 days leave plus bank holidays (Pro rata)
Closing date: 28th February 2022

About the Role
As Activities Coordinator you will work directly with a peer network of disabled people to develop new activities based on need and demand and as well as continuing with a range of social activities already set up.
Your focus will be on activities that bring people together in person, rather than online, they will provide ways for disabled people to come together to learn and share experiences. Current activities include an art club, book club, drama, choir and more.
You will work on a programme of activities that will engage disabled people across all impairment groups and across the borough of Richmond. The programme can include regular group activities, trips, talks, campaigning and more, and will be shaped by disabled people. As Activities Coordinator you also will work with disabled people to become peer mentors who will support the organising of the sessions, marketing and creating a programme of events.
If you have experience of setting up activities in the community, fundraising and writing successful project proposals and working in a dynamic way with the community, then this could be the role for you!
Ideally you will have experience of community development work or working in a community setting. You will have great organisational skills and the ability to motivate and inspire disabled adults to participate in and lead social activities, to help combat social isolation and learn new skills. You will need to able to work on your own initiative, be creative and have a ‘can do’ attitude to be successful in this role.
You will also need excellent communication and IT skills, administrative skills and be fully competent on Microsoft applications. You will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
